Brandi Gabbard & Penny for Pinellas are a win for St.Petersburg and the Realtor® Party.

The Pinellas Realtor Organization (PRO) supported candidate, Realtor Brandi Gabbard has won a seat on the St. Petersburg City Council, defeating Barclay Harless 61 percent to 39 percent. Gabbard is now the fifth woman on the council, joining Darden Rice, Amy Foster, Lisa Wheeler-Bowman and newcomer Gina Driscoll. We are proud and honored to count Gabbard as an active and involved member at PRO.  PRO also  supported an extension of the Penny for Pinellas one-cent infrastructure sales tax, which Pinellas county voters also approved, 83 percent to 17 percent. PRO, through the REALTOR® Party, is a powerful alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations working to protect and promote homeownership and property investment. The REALTOR® Party speaks with one voice to advance candidates and public policies that build strong communities and promote a vibrant business environment.

REALTOR Brand is Big Winner at St. Anthony’s Tri

May 15, 2017- The REALTOR “R” could be seen all over Straub and Vinoy Parks April 28 – 30 as PRO’s Gold Sponsorship of St. Anthony’s Triathlon came to life. Light poles in Downtown St. Petersburg sported banners with the REALTOR logo, and fencing up around Straub Park along Beach Drive repeated the “R” every 3 feet or so.

At the Fitness Expo on April 28 and 29, PRO members volunteered at the REALTOR tent, located in the Athlete Registration area. We encouraged people to come to the tent to study the course map, enter to win a free registration fee for an IRONMAN race, and to enjoy a nice glass of water on a warm day. We handed out 2,500 lens cleaner cloths with our branding over the course of the weekend. Hundreds saw and stopped in our tent, decked out in blue and with banners promoting the REALTOR brand.

This year, thanks to Kent Rodahaver, we were also lucky enough to have professional triathlete James Hadley at our tent for two clinics to prepare the athletes for race day. This was a great addition, and excellent way to draw people in and connect with us.

On Sunday, April 30, PRO members helped staff a water station on the run course, getting them right inside the race action! Other members volunteered at the finish line, handing out medals to each hard-working athlete who competed. Post-race, PRO members Kevin Batdorf and Tom Steck presented awards to the winners. Many of the approximately 150 award winners had a friend or family member take a photo of them for their social media pages with Kevin and Tom in their blue shirts with REALTOR logos.

Check out photos from our St. Anthony’s Triathlon weekend experience in our Facebook album here.

No event of this size is possible without the volunteers, and we had several members of the REALTOR family donate their time. Our volunteers worked at our tent on Friday and Saturday of race weekend, and on race day handing out water to runners and medals at the finish line. Many thanks to the following people for their service:

We’re also using portions of the National Association of REALTORS® “Get Realtor®” consumer campaign in our messaging. In addition, we will drive consumers to search for homes and to find a REALTOR® on realtor.com.

But YOU are truly the face of our sponsorship, and we want to involve as many of our members as we can during the race weekend. We want to get REALTORS® in front of the approximately 10,000 people who will participate in this event to tell your story of helping create vibrant communities where families live, work and play!

PRO & REALTORS Win at IRONKIDS & Iron Girl Clearwater Race Weekend

PRO was the proud title sponsor of the 2017 IRONKIDS® Clearwater Fun Run on Saturday, April 8. The race weekend was also comprised of a vendor expo and the 14th annual Iron Girl® Clearwater Half Marathon & 5K presented by Outback Steakhouse on Sunday, April 9.

During the weekend we handed out superhero capes to the kids and had markers, glitter, ribbon and glue at our expo tent so they could decorate them. It was a great way for our members to get to engage with the families involved in the race weekend.

We partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast by providing 45 race entries for the IRONKIDS Clearwater Fun Run. Not only did PRO members cheer on the Boys & Girls Clubs athletes at the Fun Run, our YPN (Young Professionals Network) members also decorated superhero capes with the kids at the Wood Valley Club the Wednesday prior to the race.

Through sport and competition, IRONKIDS and Iron Girl encourage active, positive and healthy lifestyles – a perfect match for our vision of strong, vibrant communities centered around every definition of “family” and home.

By sponsoring these events, we showcased the pivotal role REALTORS® play in building vibrant communities where IRONKIDS, Iron Girls and their families live, work and play. Our involvement gave us an opportunity to bring our ideals as REALTORS® to life over the course of the race weekend. Messaging included advocating on behalf of homeowners and helping families discover their dream of “home.” We also showed that REALTORS® are at the heart of the real estate journey, serving as the trusted advisor for their clients.

Be sure to check out all the photos from the weekend on the PRO Facebook page.

PRO Sponsoring St. Anthony’s Triathlon

PRO will be the Gold Sponsor for St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg this April 22-24. Our goal is two-fold: to improve public awareness of the role and value of REALTORS in all real property decisions, and to position REALTORS as the source of real estate information and data.

Triathlon is a 3 sport discipline where competitors swim, then transition to bike, then to run, all in the same event. Because of its prize purse, this race attracts many professional and Olympic triathletes. The St. Anthony’s Triathlon takes place in Downtown St. Petersburg, with the swim start on the beach just north of North Shore Pool, and finish line at Vinoy Park.

The race is in its 33rd year and reaches more than 10,000 athletes, volunteers and spectators. The event is operated by a not-for-profit organization and all proceeds from the race support the health-related programs and services of St. Anthony’s Hospital. The economic impact on the city of St. Petersburg is $4.7 million. PRO is proud to be a supporter of this great event!

Find out more about the race at satriathlon.com.
